Health Issues August 18, 2013

I saw my PA last week, and my diabetes is doing GREAT. My A1C was 5.5, according to Burt, almost too good. I think the cinnamon capsules are working. I’m only taking 8 units of Lantus everyday, and he wants me to start me back on a short-acting insulin before meals. I have an appointment on the 29th with my diabetes specialist.

My cardiologist wants to start me on a blood thinner, since my heart is still not functioning well. He’s afraid that I could have a stroke from a blood clot produced in the heart. Since I’ve been anemic in the past, he wants me to have a colonoscopy first, to check for bleeding in my intestines. He told me that he would be remiss to start the blood thinner without checking out the anemia first. With the blood thinners, I would either have to have frequent blood tests or adhere to a strict diet. I could handle the blood tests easier. So we’ll see where this goes.

Otherwise I’m doing pretty well. My psyche meds have settled again, and I feel pretty stable, even good most days. My blood pressure is great. My vision is slowly getting worse, but I see me eye docs about every 3 to 4 months, which sucks, but at least it’s being monitored.

Hope you all are doing ok. Take care, blessed be, hugs!!! Pam
